Component III

This component has as its object to increase awareness on competition issues. The first action with this aim will consist in designing and adopting a programme for competition advocacy which defines the different measures to be carried out under the Project. These measures are aimed at creating a veritable competition culture among stakeholders as well as in the general public. They can be subdivided in two categories: those to be taken by the Consortium itself and those proposed by the Consortium, but to be taken by the Institutions in charge of competition policy, i. e. the CPC and the Ministry for Trade and Services.

In the above context, the Project team has a double role. It will, one the one hand, deploy its own competition advocacy actions. These can be summarized as follows:

The Consortium must, on the other hand, provide for the relevant staff of both the CPC and the Ministry of Trade and Services specialized trainings on carrying out competition advocacy tasks. For this purpose several seminars will be organized. They will focus on substantive issues of completion law and policy and on techniques used for the promotion of competition as a tool for raising the competitiveness of the economy for the benefit of all classes of the population and in particular for that of consumers.
